Author Angie Thomas Visits Bailey APAC

Scholars at Bailey APAC Middle School were excited to welcome Angie Thomas, the bestselling author and Jackson native, for a special visit on October 23. As part of the Mississippi Book Festival’s outreach program, Turn the Page. Thomas spoke with scholars about her journey as a writer and what inspires her stories.

During her visit, she led a brief writing activity that encouraged scholars to tap into their creativity and share stories that mattered to them. She also spent time answering questions about her books, characters, and movies.

Each participant in attendance received a personalized copy of Nic Blake and the Remarkables: The Book of Anansi—Thomas’s newest novel, which even includes a character who attends Bailey  Thank you Angie Thomas and the MS Book Festival for this special event.
